Ahmedabad: Heavy rain in Delhi and Mumbai disrupted flight operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport on Wednesday, delaying several arrivals and departures and forcing the cancellation of a flight to Mumbai.Airport sources said flights operating between Ahmedabad and Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata were affected due to rotational delays caused by adverse weather at the destination airports. A flight to Mumbai was cancelled, while multiple services operated behind schedule. Several arriving flights were also delayed from these destinations, according to sources.Airlines issued travel advisories asking passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.Akasa Air said heavy rain in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Goa had affected flights across its network. Air India warned that adverse weather could disrupt services to and from Delhi, while IndiGo said poor weather in Delhi and heavy rain in Mumbai had affected the schedules. IndiGo also advised passengers to allow extra travel time to the airport due to slow-moving traffic in Mumbai.Passengers at Ahmedabad airport were advised to monitor their flight status before travelling, as delays could continue depending on weather conditions in the affected cities.
