Srinagar, July 8: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Tuesday chaired a multi-disciplinary meeting to review traffic management measures and assess the progress of major road infrastructure projects aimed at improving traffic flow and urban mobility across Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Vice Chairman Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, SSP Traffic Srinagar, and senior officers from the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department, Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), and other concerned departments.
During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the status of several key projects, including the Natipora Crossing–Chanapora Bridge road, T-junction at Natipora, Shalteng–Parimpora Flyover, Foot Over Bridge at JVC, underpasses at Nowgam and Mominabad, the road along the Doodganga bank from Barzulla to Sanatnagar, painting of zebra crossings and stop lines, establishment of an e-charging station at Batamaloo, development of bus stops, removal of traffic bottlenecks, and identification of no-honking zones across the city.
Officials from the R&B Department and Srinagar Smart City Limited briefed the meeting on the progress achieved so far, the current status of ongoing works, and the timelines for completion of the projects.
Emphasising the need for coordinated efforts, Divisional Commissioner Anshul Garg directed all concerned departments to ensure timely execution of the projects. He stressed that effective inter-departmental coordination is essential for improving traffic management, reducing congestion, and enhancing commuter convenience across Srinagar.
