Gandhinagar: A meeting of the Weather Watch Group was held at the state emergency operations centre (SEOC) in Gandhinagar on Tuesday to review administrative preparedness in case of possible monsoon-related disasters. Director of relief Subhash Savalia chaired the meeting.Quoting Savalia, a statement said that all departments have been instructed to coordinate closely and inform the SEOC immediately in the event of any emergency.Officials of the meteorological department presented satellite imagery and forecasts, indicating which parts of the state may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming days. The water resources department shared information on the current levels of reservoirs and dams, along with advance planning and alert systems for releasing water in case of overflow, the statement said.The statement added that the NDRF and SDRF provided information on areas where teams have been stationed, while the R&B and energy departments outlined their respective action plans.
