Kanpur: A 48-year-old operator of a private primary school-cum-coaching centre in Kanpur was arrested on charges of allegedly molesting three minor girls studying at his institution after the survivors disclosed the abuse to their parents. Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and launched an investigation.The incident came to light in the Panki police station area, where the accused, identified as Brijesh Pal, ran a private primary school up to Class V from his residence and also conducted coaching classes.According to the complaint, the father of an eight-year-old Class IV student approached the police after his daughter refused to attend coaching classes on Saturday. When questioned by her parents, the girl broke down and alleged that Brijesh had been behaving inappropriately with her. She also told them that two of her friends had faced similar abuse.The girl’s father then contacted the parents of the other two children. After speaking to their daughters, the families found that all three girls had made similar allegations against the accused.The parents alleged that when they confronted Brijesh, he threatened them and forced them to leave. They subsequently approached the Panki police station and lodged a complaint.Panki SHO Dinesh Bisht said they registered an FIR against the accused on Monday under the Pocso Act and other relevant provisions of law.
