Nagpur: A woman and her family travelling on the Danapur-Secunderabad Express allegedly faced harassment following a seat allotment dispute, turning their journey into a nightmare. The incident occurred on the intervening night of July 3-4 after the train left Varanasi. No FIR has been registered so far.According to the complaint, passengers without tickets crowded the coach, leading to a scuffle and physical harassment. The family claimed lights were switched off and women were molested. The family immediately dialled the railway helpline number and tagged the official X handle seeking help.Senior inspector of Govt Railway Police (GRP), Gaurav Gawande, confirmed that the woman lodged a complaint on 139. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and ticket collectors attended the family at Varanasi.Upon the train’s arrival in Nagpur on July 4, GRP officials met the victims. Gawande said his team spoke to their Varanasi counterpart and emailed the detailed complaint. A fresh complaint was also registered in Nagpur and forwarded to Varanasi.
