Dimapur: Union minister of state for home Nityanand Rai has called for optimum and systematic utilisation of available resources in Nagaland to promote sustainable agricultural growth and improve livelihoods.Chairing a review meeting with heads of departments and district-level officers at Mokokchung DC’s conference hall on Monday, Rai observed that Nagaland is endowed with favourable natural resources and climatic conditions for organic farming, an official statement said on Tuesday.He stressed the importance of effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes to achieve the goals and objectives envisioned by the Centre.Rai, who was on a two-day visit to Mokokchung district, said proper execution of these schemes is essential to ensure inclusive and equitable growth and development across all regions of the country.He asked the departments implementing various central schemes to set clear priorities and develop well-defined action plans to deliver public services efficiently.He also emphasised the need for transparency, accountability and timely implementation to ensure that the intended benefits reach the people.During the meeting, the heads of departments and district offices presented brief reports on the centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in Mokokchung district, highlighting their progress, achievements and challenges.Mokokchung ADC Dr Madhavi R gave a PowerPoint presentation outlining the district’s profile and key development indicators.Rai also visited Ungma village and reviewed key development and cultural initiatives there.
