Noida: A 26-year-old man died after he suddenly collapsed while swimming during a friend’s birthday party at a farmhouse in Sector 135. While preliminary investigation suggested a possible cardiac event, the exact cause of death remained unclear.According to police, Lucky Sanvou Damya, a native of Manipur, worked at a private company in Noida. On Saturday, Lucky attendeda birthday party at a farmhouse with a swimming pool in Sector 135. After the cake-cutting, as guests ate and celebrated, he entered the pool, police said.“After spending some time in the water, he suddenly felt unwell and collapsed inside the pool,” said ACP Rakesh Pratap Singh. Friends pulled him out and rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Police said the autopsy report, received Monday, did not establish the exact cause of death. Doctors have since preserved the viscera for forensic analysis, and police said the cause of death will be confirmed only after those findings arrive.Police said they were reviewing CCTV footage from the farmhouse and questioning attendees to reconstruct events. No complaint has been filed by the family so far, but officials said appropriate action will follow if the probe finds negligence or safety violations.Investigators are also examining whether the farmhouse had the required permissions and adequate safety measures, including lifeguards and emergency medical arrangements. Cops said the farmhouse operator’s phone was switched off, and they were trying to trace him.
