Bathinda: Sanjha Mulazam Manch and Punjab Mulazan and Pensioner Front on Monday held a protest near the residence of Sangrur MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer in Barnala. The employee and pensioner representatives are demanding the release of 18% pending dearness allowance (DA), implementation of assured career progression, old pension scheme for pensioners, cancellation of increase in probation period of employees and pension to be fixed as per 2.59 scheme as per the sixth pay scale. The protesters assembled at the court chowk and marched towards the residence of MP Hayer. They said a state-level protest will be organised in Mohali on July 17.
