Bengaluru: Tumakuru police arrested a YouTuber named Brahmananda Reddy on alleged charges of uploading a video defaming Karnataka deputy chief minister G Parameshwara and Tumakuru deputy commissioner Shubha Kalyan and spreading false news.According to police, an official from social media team of New Extension police station came across the video under the headline ‘DCM Parameshwar Love Story’ on Youtube channel – ‘Detective Legend’. “The 17-minute-video, uploaded recently, contains abusive and defamatory words against the victims. Also, there are chances that provoked by this false video, public would indulge in violence across the state,” the complaint read.Reddy has been taken into police custody for questioning. His mobile, laptop and other electronic gadgets have have seized.
