Yamunanagar: A court in Jagadhri on Friday denied anticipatory bail to the accused in the alleged attack on a Karnal police team in Chhota Bans village of Yamunanagar district.Additional sessions judge Rajneesh Kumar dismissed the anticipatory bail plea filed by the principal accused, according to a police spokesperson.Police said the incident took place on June 16 in Chhota Bans village under Radaur police station when a Karnal Police team was allegedly attacked during a raid to arrest Rajinder, an accused wanted in a NDPS case. A case was later registered under relevant BNS sections and the NDPS Act.The accused who approached the court for anticipatory bail were identified as Ramjana alias Kavita, Neetu, Mahipal, Darshan, and Gurnam — all are residents of Chhota Bans village.The police spokesperson stated that additional district public prosecutor Dharam Chand and deputy district attorney Ravinder Malik strongly opposed the bail applications on behalf of the state. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of all the accused.In a related development, a regular bail application filed by Ravina of Chhota Bans village, who was already arrested in the case, was also under consideration before the court. However, during the hearing, the accused withdrew the bail petition, following which the court disposed of the matter as withdrawn.Police said the investigation into the case is continuing in a fair and comprehensive manner.
