Alkem Laboratories has received favourable orders from the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Mumbai, resulting in the deletion of income-tax disallowances aggregating to ₹660.77 crore for multiple assessment years, the company said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday.
“Order(s) have been passed by CIT(A) for Assessment Years (AYs) 2018-19 to 2022-23 deleting disallowances made u/s 80-IE of the Act involving tax amount of Rs. 660.77 Crores,” said Alkem Laboratories.
The appellate authority has passed orders in Alkem’s favour for assessment years 2018-19 to 2022-23, overturning disallowances made by the assessing officer under Section 80-IE of the Income-tax Act, 1961. The disputed amount pertained to deductions claimed by the company that were earlier partly denied during reassessment proceedings.
According to the filing, the orders were received on June 30, 2026. The disallowances had arisen from reassessment orders passed under Sections 143(3) and 144 read with Section 147 of the Act.
Alkem said the favourable appellate rulings will not have any material impact on its financial, operational or other activities. The company also clarified that the development has been disclosed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations.
