Hyderabad: Airtel is mulling the possibility of making Hyderabad its second headquarters and is keen on increasing its data centre capacity and fibre connectivity in Telangana, Bharti Enterprises chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal told chief minister Revanth Reddy during a visit on Tuesday, a release issued by the chief minister ‘s office (CMO) said.During the meeting, CM Revanth told Mittal that Telangana is considering setting up a comprehensive data centre and artificial intelligence infrastructure campus in the state, and urged Bharti Airtel to expand its digital, cloud, cybersecurity and AI operations in Hyderabad.The CM also asked the company to expedite its proposed Chandanvelli data centre project and nominate a senior executive to coordinate with the state govt on future investments and resolution of pending issues.Mittal, who met the CM at the MCRHRD Bodhi Pavilion, said Bharti Enterprises was considering making Hyderabad Airtel’s second headquarters and assured the govt that the company was ready to increase its data centre capacity and expand fibre connectivity across Telangana.The CM also briefed Mittal on education and skilling reforms, including the setting up of the Young India Skill University, the upgradation of industrial training institutes (ITIs) into advanced technology centres and the development of polytechnic colleges. Reddy said the initiatives were aimed at improving employability among youth and supporting industry needs.The Bharti Group chief also announced that the Bharti Foundation would provide scholarships to students in govt schools and advanced technology centres in Telangana as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.
