GURGAON: Police have registered an FIR after a video showing a man sitting on the roof of a moving car on a highway went viral on social media. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station, where the man was seen performing a dangerous stunt by travelling on the roof of the vehicle. Police said the act endangered not only his own life but also the safety of other road users. Taking cognisance of the video, Gurgaon Police identified the accused and initiated legal action. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law, and a notice is being issued to the accused. Police said further action, including arrest, will be taken as per legal procedure. Police said performing stunts on public roads, driving negligently, overspeeding, or engaging in activities that put others at risk are serious offences, and strict action will be taken against violators. Gurgaon Police has appealed to motorists and residents to follow traffic rules and avoid making videos or performing dangerous acts on roads for social media attention. Officials said police teams are monitoring viral videos and complaints related to traffic violations, and those found violating the rules will face legal action.
