Amravati: A 65-year-old farmer was killed and another was seriously injured after they were allegedly struck by lightning while they were sowing cotton in a field at Ner Pinglai village in Amravati district on Sunday.The deceased was identified as Ashok Jagjivan Bhojane, 65, a resident of Ner Pinglai. The injured is identified as Anup Wasudev Kokate.According to police, Bhojane and Kokate were working in the field when heavy rain accompanied by lightning lashed the area. As they attempted to leave the field, lightning struck both of them.Police are investigating the incident.
