Jyeshtha Purnima 2026: Significance
Purnima is the most powerful day in Hinduism and this day falls every month but Jyeshtha Purnima is the prominent day, which is celebrated as Vat Purnima. This is one of the most powerful day to perform puja to Lord Vishnu. Devotees observe fast from sunrise to sunset and worship Shri Satyanarayan, another form of Lord Vishnu. On this sacred day, Moon comes out in its full form and the divine rays of Moon falls on earth. The day holds a great religious and spiritual significance when people perform various spiritual activities to seek guidance, spiritual growth, wish for abundance and wealth. Jyeshtha Purnima 2026: Puja Rituals
1. Get up early in the morning and take a holy bath in the Ganga river.2. Those unable to visit the Ganga ghat, they can take a bath at home by adding ganga jal in the bath water. 3. Cleaning your entire home including puja room. 4. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi, if you do not have an idol of Maa Laxmi then you can place Shree Yantra, a symbol of Maa Laxmi. 5. Devotees should light a diya with desi ghee in front of the idols. Place a kalash filled with water, and offer a yellow flower garland. 6. Offer prepared prasad, which includes Panjeeri along with a banana, Kheer, Panchamrit, and Tulsi Patra. 7. Recite the Satyanarayan Katha and chant the aarti – “Om Jai Jagdish Hare” and “Jai Laxmi Ramana”. 8. Finally, offer bhog prasad to the Lord and Goddess and add some prasad in the kalash, and offer that water to the Moon God. 9. After completing all the puja rituals, devotees can break their fast by consuming sattvik food. 10. Devotees should keep this in mind that Satyanarayan Puja can be conducted at any time, but it is important to complete it before the moon rises.
