Nagpur: A day after a woman was found murdered in Kamptee, police on Saturday arrested her former husband from a remote village in Yavatmal district. The accused, identified as Sandeep Dudhpachare, is suspected of attacking his ex-wife, Manju Pachare (also known as Manju Parse), with a sharp weapon at Shukrawari Bazaar a day after their divorce.Police said Dudhpachare was allegedly upset over Manju’s refusal to resume the relationship and her insistence on a legal separation. The couple had been living apart following prolonged marital discord. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused had a history of alcohol abuse and had allegedly subjected her to physical and mental harassment during their two-year marriage. On Friday, Dudhpachare is believed to have followed Manju as she headed to the market area under Old Cotton Market police limits and attacked her, resulting in her death.Investigators initially faced difficulty identifying the assailant, but later gathered information about repeated threats made by him to pressure her into reconciliation. When she refused, he allegedly tracked her down before carrying out the attack.
