Kolkata: An 11-year-old boy in Joynagar was allegedly abused by a local man after a minor accident during play.The boy was playing with friends after school when a stick in his hand accidentally hit a passerby, Tapan Haldar. Haldar allegedly dragged the boy by his hair, made him do sit-ups in public, then took him to his house. There, the child was allegedly stripped, tied by his legs, hung upside down, and beaten.Haldar’s wife and family members were reportedly present, and the assault was filmed on a mobile. The boy was also allegedly threatened not to tell anyone.The child stayed silent at first as he was scared. His family later found out after a relative got the video. The boy was taken to hospital.Police said a complaint was filed and transferred to Joynagar PS. The accused has locked his house and is missing. Police are searching for him.
