Nagpur: Water supply in nine zones of Nagpur may be affected on Thursday morning following a major power failure at the Navegaon Water Pumping Station. The disruption occurred due to a fault at the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) Mansar Substation, affecting raw water pumping operations.According to Orange City Water (OCW) and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), the MSEDCL team is currently working to locate and rectify the fault. However, if power restoration is delayed, several areas may experience low pressure or no water supply.The Navegaon Khairi Dam is the only source of raw water for the Gorewada and Godhani water treatment plants, which supply water to all four Pench Water Treatment Plants. The affected zones include Laxmi Nagar, Dharampeth, Hanuman Nagar, Dhantoli, Nehru Nagar, Gandhibagh, Satranjipura, Ashi Nagar and Mangalwari.In Laxmi Nagar Zone, areas such as Laxmi Nagar, Gayatri Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Khamla, Takli Seem, Jaitala, and Trimurti Nagar may face disruption.Dharampeth Zone areas likely to be affected include Ram Nagar ESR and GSR areas, Futala Line, Civil Lines DT, Seminary Hills ESR and GSR, Dabha, Tekdi Wadi, IBM DT, GH-Buldi and Dhantoli areas.Hanuman Nagar Zone may see impact in Chinchbhavan, Omkar Nagar, Hudkeshwar, Shri Nagar, Nalanda Nagar, Hudkeshwar-Narsala tapping areas and Amrut double-decker ESRs.Other affected areas include Wanjari Nagar, Reshimbagh, Hanuman Nagar, Sakkardara, Bidipeth, Balaji Nagar, Sitabuldi Fort, Killa Mahal, Godrej Anandam, Medical feeder, Boriyapura, Central Railway area, Nara, Nari, Jaripatka, Gittikhadan, Gorewada and Sadar areas.NMC and OCW have appealed to citizens to use water judiciously.For water supply-related assistance, citizens can contact NMC-OCW helpline at 1800 266 9899, email contact@ocwindia.com, or use the Nagpur Jal Grahak Sewa App .
