Chatra: A 28-year-old man died of his injuries after he was allegedly thrashed over an affair. The deceased, Ajay Ganjhu, was a resident of Baghmari village under Lawalong police station limits.Ganjhu’s family members claimed he was assaulted in Belatand village on Tuesday, where he went to meet a married woman with whom he was in a relationship. The family members of the woman took Ganjhu to a nearby forest and thrashed him. He was later abandoned near Baghmari village. Ganjhu managed to reach his house early on Wednesday but died a short while later.Chandan Kumar, the officer-in charge of Lawalong police station, said, “Preliminary information suggests that the youth may have been assaulted and that the case appears to be linked to a love affair. However, no written complaint was received from the family so far. Further, the post-mortem examination report is also awaited.”
