Kolkata: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) on Wednesday said it was nominated as the national industry partner for seven editions — 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2025 — of the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) and had received management fee of approximately Rs 16 crore from West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC). “Along with us, other leading business chambers were BGBS national industry partners in the 2022, 2023 and 2025 editions,” the apex chamber added. This comes after CM Suvendu Adhikari at the assembly on Tuesday raised questions about the involvement of Ficci in BGBS.According to Ficci, the payment received across seven editions of BGBS, was made towards manpower and organisational expenses of the event. The quantum of this fee was in keeping with the management fees Ficci receives from comparable govt-level business conclaves across the country, the chamber said.
