Bokaro: The district police on Wednesday carried out an aerial surveillance of procession routes in the city and across the district as a part of its review of security measures and arrangements for Muharram, which is scheduled later this week.Acting on the directives of SP Nathu Singh Meena, drone cameras were deployed to inspect sensitive locations in the Marafari police station limits. High-rise buildings were scanned using drones to identify potential security risks from elevated structures. The drive is also helping authorities detect low-hanging power lines, overhanging tree branches and other roadside obstructions that could pose safety hazards during Muharram processions, said officials.Police teams are simultaneously carrying out ground-level verification of all designated “akharas” and procession routes across the district, ensuring every route remains free from disruptions.“Police have been placed on high alert to ensure smooth maintenance of law and order across the district,” Meena said. He further said a comprehensive security arrangement will be in place for observance of Muharram, and monitoring is being strengthened through technology and field verification.
