DHARMAPURI: A 19-year-old girl preparing for the NEET exam died by suicide at her home near Palacode in Dharmapuri district on Saturday night. The girl, R Roshini of Endapatti village, had completed Class 12 last year and was preparing for NEET at a private coaching centre in Namakkal. She returned home two months ago and was studying on her own. She was scheduled to take the NEET exam on Sunday.According to Palacode police, her father, Ramakrishnan, 48, who works at the Palacode Cooperative Sugarmill, returned home on Saturday and found her dead in an upstairs room. Neighbours informed the police after hearing his screams. Police said she took the step when her parents and siblings were not at home.Police said they have not confirmed whether exam pressure was a factor and are investigating. The body was sent to Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
