Nagpur: The transport department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will operate a special free bus service for students appearing in the NEET reexamination on June 21. The move is aimed at ensuring a safe, convenient, and stress-free commute to examination centres.The initiative was launched on the instructions of transport committee chairperson Mangala Khekare. NEET aspirants will be allowed to travel free of cost in the specially deployed air-conditioned ‘Aapli Bus’ services by showing their admit cards to conductors.To help students plan their journey, live tracking of buses and updated service information will be available through the NMC ‘Chalo App’.According to the transport department, most buses have been scheduled to depart by 10am, enabling candidates to reach their examination centres well before the reporting deadline of 12.30pm. Special buses for the return journey will also be operated from 5pm onwards after the examination concludes.NMC officials said the civic transport undertaking remains committed to providing safe, affordable and reliable public transport and expressed confidence that the initiative would allow students to focus entirely on their examination without worrying about travel arrangements.Transport committee chairperson Mangala Khekare extended her best wishes to all NEET aspirants for the examination and their future careers.
