Kolkata: The CBI on Friday questioned two former deputy commissioners of Kolkata Police for several hours as part of its probe, which was reopened, into allegations of evidence destruction and attempts to shield the real culprits in the Aug 2024 R G Kar rape-murder case.Former DC (central) Indira Mukherjee and former DC (north) Abhishek Gupta were interrogated at length and numerous documents were seized, a senior CBI official confirmed. Former Kolkata Police commissioner Vineet Goyal has also been summoned to appear before investigators next week. Mukherjee was not linked to the main probe that KP carried out for five days before it was handed over to CBI.
