An evening of disco-themed entertainment, organised by three long-time friends, has raised an impressive £2,275 to support our work with vulnerable children, adults, and families facing complex life challenges.
The event at Café Miro in Hereford was the brainchild of Mike Greene, Marcus Upcott, and Chris Ferriday—three men in their 60s with a shared passion for making a difference. More than 70 guests attended the lively evening, which featured a hog roast, raffle, auctions, and plenty of entertainment.
In addition to raising vital funds, the trio hoped to shine a spotlight on our work, acknowledging that Vennture isn’t as widely known as other charities despite its significant impact on local lives.
Mike Greene has a deeply personal connection to our charity. We supported him through a traumatic and challenging period when, he says, no one else could.
“Vennture were there for me when I felt helpless, needed independent advice, and was at a low point. I know how hard life can hit, especially for young people facing poor mental health or addiction. Vennture steps in when people are in crisis—whether that’s family breakdowns, homelessness, or young adults navigating life after care.”
Rob Thomas, Lead Officer here at Vennture, praised the trio for their efforts. He said:
