Noida: Residents from sectors 19, 58 and 59 have filed complaints highlighting an urgent need for road repairs, with damaged internal roads creating safety risks in these areas. Residents said several stretches have become difficult to use and may deteriorate further during the approaching rainy season. They have called for immediate repairs to prevent accidents and reduce inconvenience.“The condition of the internal roads in Sector 19 is very pathetic. Many roads have become unfit for use, and the situation is likely to worsen with the impending rainy season,” said Sector 19 RWA president RC Gupta.Instead of the usual five-year cycle, roads in the sector have not been revamped for nine years and are long overdue for recarpeting work, Gupta added. With the monsoon approaching, residents have also raised concerns that showers will further delay any progress on-ground. Despite numerous requests, Gupta said even the potholes that have come up in the sector have not been fixed over the last year.

Bhushan Sharma, joint treasurer of the Federation of Noida Resident Welfare Associations (FONRWA), also raised complaints over large potholes on the main road connecting sectors 58 and 59. “These potholes, which occupy nearly half the width of the road in some areas, pose a severe risk of accidents,” he said. The route sees heavy traffic on a daily basis, making the situation more precarious for both motorists and pedestrians during rainy weather.Residents are urging concerned authorities to prioritise the repairs and maintenance of the roads for the safety and convenience of the residents. Immediate action is crucial to prevent potential accidents and ensure the well-being of the community, they said.A response from Noida Authority is awaited.
