Chennai: Taking advantage of recurring night-time power cuts at Poonamallee, Kattupakkam and nearby areas, motorcycle thieves escaped with parked bikes under the cover of darkness. Sarath Kumar of Ayyappanthangal, found his high-end motorcycle missing from outside his residence. On reviewing CCTV footage, he found visuals of unidentified men riding through streets and scouting houses where motorcycles were parked. The footage showed the suspects returning during a power outage and fleeing with the parked motorcycle. Similar incidents have been reported from other localities, raising fear among residents.Based on the footage, Poonamallee police have registered a case and are investigating to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the thefts.
