Fans react to ‘Scooby-Doo: Origins’ first look
The first look, has left the internet divided, with some fans smitten by the pup, while others slammed the decision of casting a real pup, as it would take away from the classic quirks of the character. A fan said, “one of the best running gags in scooby doo has always been scooby disguising himself as a human and everyone just going along with it, treating him like he’s actually a person using a real dog robs the character of so much fun, whimsy, and camp likeeee i’m sorry but part of scooby’s charm is that he’s not really bound by reality.“Others defended the casting of the pup saying, “to everyone freaking out… this is a prequel series.. scooby is supposed to be a puppy… this is what a chocolate great dane puppy looks like.”Still another shared screen shots of the older films in the franchise and said, “nothing will ever come close to these scooby-doo movies.”
