Ponda: A 24-year-old scooterist from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, died after a car allegedly rammed into his two-wheeler at Mardol, on Monday morning.Police identified the victm as Sourabh Dhere. Mardol police said Anand Pawar, 57, a resident of Curti, Ponda, was allegedly driving his car rashly and negligently when he lost control on a curve near the Simepaini slope and collided with Dhere’s oncoming scooter.The impact threw Dhere onto the road, leaving him seriously injured. He was rushed to GMC, where he succumbed to his injuries. His body has been preserved at the GMC mortuary. Mardol police have registered an FIR against Pawar.
