Chatra: Police foiled a possible robbery attempt by arresting four inter-state criminals with firearms and ammunition from Hunterganj area on Saturday.SP Animesh Naithany said a raid was carried out by a special team led by sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Sunny Vardhan and Hunterganj police station officer-in-charge Prabhat Kumar at the Upgraded Govt Middle School in Dumaria village.The men were identified as Gautam Paswan of Barakala village under Kothi police station (PS) limits, Praveen Kumar of Jaygir village under Barachatti PS limits, Vikas Manjhi of Patwas village under Fatehpur PS area in Bihar and Chintu Paswan of Pindra village under Hunterganj PS limits area in Chatra. “Two pistols, one country-made pistol and four cartridges were also recovered from their possession.,” SP said. Paswan, Naithany added, is an accused in nine criminal cases in Jharkhand and Bihar.Their role in other criminal activities and their network is being investigated, police said.
