Pune: The Parvati police have registered a case against the owners of a pet dog over allegations that the canine bit 10 people in the past two weeks.Parvati Paytha resident Akshay Sathe (30), a private driver by profession, lodged a police complaint against the dog owners. According to the police, the dog allegedly bit a resident of the lane around 4.30pm on Wednesday.Senior inspector Rajendra Sahane of Parvati police station said, “The pet owners failed to keep the dog enclosed or on a leash. The canine is allowed to roam freely in the lane without supervision. In the past two weeks, some residents claimed the dog has attacked a few people walking through the area, and allegedly bit different people on their legs, hands and thighs.”He added, “We have written to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), requesting officials to examine the dog. The dog owners have neglected their responsibility of controlling the pet.”
