Jaipur: The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) has decided to collect and test water samples from the flow areas of the Bandi, Jojari and Luni rivers, while accumulated sludge in the Jojari River will be scientifically disposed off as part of measures to address pollution concerns.The decision was taken during a meeting of senior board officials convened to review compliance with directions issued by the Supreme Court on May 29.RSPCB Chairperson Aparna Arora said, “An action plan for sludge disposal has been prepared for Jodhpur, Pali and Balotra. Sludge samples from the Jojari River will be collected and tested at accredited laboratories, and disposal will be carried out based on the findings.”Water samples from the Bandi, Jojari and Luni river stretches will also be analysed to assess pollution levels.An official said, “Land for sludge disposal in Balotra is expected to be made available this month. It added that emphasis is being placed on environmental protection and the scientific management of pollution-related waste.”
