Mumbai: A Kenyan national living illegally in India for the past 26 years was detained by the Vakola Police. Osino Omandi, 61, was living in a chawl on Nehru Road in Santacruz East.Vakola Police’s Anti-Terrorism Cell received specific information about a foreign national living in the chawl for several years. The police made inquiries with him and found that his visa had expired in 2000. He was living in India illegally without the required documentation. Police found a Kenyan passport on him. Vakola Police informed the Foreigners’ Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and Special Branch (SB) II of the Mumbai Police to initiate the process of deporting him.
