Shillong: A special programme was organized at Lok Bhavan, Shillong, on Tuesday to commemorate the foundation day and statehood day of Sikkim, Goa and Telangana. The event, held at the Durbar Hall, was marked with the participation of govt officials, college students, distinguished citizens and invited guests.The celebration featured a series of cultural performances, including traditional dances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the three states, adding colour and vibrancy to the occasion.Although the governor of Meghalaya, CH Vijayashankar, could not attend the programme, the event commenced with a welcome address delivered by the additional chief secretary to the governor, HC Chaudhary. The gathering also listened to messages from the governors of Sikkim, Goa and Telangana.As part of the programme, videos highlighting the culture, history and heritage of the three states were screened for the audience.The event concluded with the felicitation of all participants who took part in the cultural performances.
