Bengaluru: Craig Mengert, CEO of Cognizant’s healthcare software subsidiary TriZetto, has reportedly exited the company after nearly two decades with the healthcare technology firm, sources told TOI. He served as CEO for over 7 years. The development comes just two weeks after Cognizant hosted a major healthcare conference in the US.An email sent to Cognizant seeking comment did not elicit a response by press time.TriZetto is a key part of Cognizant’s healthcare business. Cognizant acquired the healthcare technology company for $2.7 billion in 2014 and has since integrated its software platforms into a broader suite of healthcare services.Today, Cognizant supports more than 200 million healthcare members in the US and processes over $500 billion in annual healthcare spending across claims, eligibility, prior authorization and payment integrity workflows. Prior authorization has emerged as one of the biggest pain points in the US healthcare system. According to the latest survey by the American Medical Association, 95% of physicians said prior authorization requirements delay access to necessary care, while physicians and their staff spend an average of 13 hours each week completing authorization requests.TriZetto’s portfolio of healthcare software products helps insurers, healthcare providers and other industry stakeholders improve administrative efficiency, manage costs, enhance quality of care, support revenue growth, and improve member and patient experiences.
