Chandigarh: The UT administration is set to overhaul its single-window system, with chief secretary H Rajesh Prasad constituting a high-level committee to improve its implementation. The move follows a recent visit by senior UT officials to Tamil Nadu to study the state’s governance initiatives.In an order issued last week, the chief secretary said the committee will examine single-window systems across states, identify best practices and recommend solutions for Chandigarh. It will also explore re-engineering of services and simplification of existing processes.“The committee will also aim to reduce the compliance burden on citizens and streamline procedures. It will evaluate options for delivering unified services to Chandigarh residents,” the order said.The panel will be chaired by UT deputy commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, with secretary (IT) D Karthikeyan as member secretary. Director (IT) Avikesh Gupta, director (school education) Nitish Singla and a representative from the UT’s National Informatics Centre (NIC) will serve as members.Other officials may be inducted as required, with the chairman’s approval.
