Gorakhpur: The district is in for a new tourist destination as chief minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurates the tourism development and beautification project at Chiluatal on Jun 2. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 20.39 crore and more features are being added to the site.After transformation of Ramgarhtal into one of the city’s most popular recreational hubs, state govt has developed Chiluatal on the northern edge of Gorakhpur as another major attraction. According to tourism department deputy director Rajendra Prasad Yadav, the project aims to promote Chiluatal as a modern tourist destination while enhancing local infrastructure and visitor facilities.The development work, executed by UP Projects Corporation Ltd, includes a 570-metre pathway, renovated ghats with staircases, railings along the lakefront, solar lighting, interlocking roads, CC roads, benches, a 400-metre approach road, side walls, drainage facilities, stone pitching, shops and toilet blocks. The newly developed waterfront has already startedattracting morning and evening walkers.Officials said the project is expected to boost tourism as well as generate employment opportunities in the area. Shops have been constructed to support local businesses and provide visitors with food and refreshment options.In a major attraction for tourists, boating facilities like those at Ramgarhtal will also be introduced at Chiluatal, further enhancing its appeal as a recreational and leisure destination in Gorakhpur.
