Patna: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), with help of local police, busted an organised drug trafficking syndicate in Motihari, East Champaran district, on Sunday. The NCB arrested two smugglers and seized over Rs 70 lakh cash, a currency counting machine, and around 400kg of banned narcotics, doda (husk), from the accused. The raids were carried out at multiple locations, including hideouts in Panitanki Chandmari and Janpul areas under Town police area.The NCB had received a tip-off that Pappu Prasad, a grocery trader from Miskot under Town police station, was running the illegal trade under the cover of his shop. Instead of storing the contraband at his home or shop, he allegedly used rented premises to avoid detection and ran the supply network from there.
