Mangaluru: Venur police arrested two persons and seized MDMA worth around Rs 39,200 during a raid conducted near Kambaladadda on the Guruvayanakere–Moodubidire Road on Wednesday.Based on credible information regarding the illegal transportation of the narcotic substance, Venur police sub-inspector Akshay Davagira and his team conducted an operation and intercepted a car. Police found that the accused, identified as Mohammed Tahnveer, 27, a resident of Mijar and Mohammed Salvan,22, a resident of Moodubidire, were allegedly transporting about 3.9g of MDMA. Police seized the narcotic substance along with the car used for transportation and took both accused into custody for further legal action.A case has been registered at Venur police station under Sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is on.
