Vadodara: The crime branch has arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly snatching a gold chain from a woman during her morning walk in Subhanpura on May 19.According to police, the accused, identified as Tushar Parmar, a resident of Ahmedabad, had arrived in Vadodara on the morning of the incident and hired a two-wheeler. He then allegedly targeted the woman who was out for a walk and approached her on a scooter under the pretext of asking for an address.As the woman responded, he allegedly moved closer and snatched her gold chain worth around Rs 1.10 lakh before fleeing the spot.Based on a tip-off, the crime branch later detained the suspect near Amitnagar Circle. During a search, police recovered a broken gold chain from his possession.On questioning, Parmar allegedly confessed to the offence, stating that he committed the crime shortly after arriving in the city and later returned the hired vehicle before attempting to leave, police said.
