Chandigarh: Haryana Vidhan Sabha has intensified preparations for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) North India Region Zone-II Conference scheduled to be held in Chandigarh from June 8 to 10 in coordination with the Lok Sabha Secretariat.To review arrangements for the high-profile event, Haryana assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan on Friday held meetings with Lok Sabha Secretariat director Yumnam Arun Kumar, Haryana DGP Ajay Singhal and senior officials at the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.Senior officers from the Lok Sabha and Haryana Vidhan Sabha also inspected conference venues and discussed arrangements related to guest reception, accommodation, transport, security, protocol, cultural programmes and media management.During a meeting with DGP Ajay Singhal and ADGP Saurabh Singh, it was decided that a gazetted-rank nodal officer would coordinate with the Chandigarh administration and Vidhan Sabha Secretariat throughout the event. Haryana Police will present a Guard of Honour to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, while elaborate security arrangements will be put in place at all venues.Officials have also been directed to deploy liaison officers, escort and pilot vehicles, besides ensuring adequate parking facilities for delegates and dignitaries attending the conference.MSID:: 131263500 413 |
