Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University postponed semester examinations for second, third and fourth year engineering students scheduled to begin this week. The university officials said the Second Year Engineering (SE) Semester III examinations under the 2019 pattern, earlier scheduled from May 20 to 25, will now be held after June 11. The Third Year Engineering (TE) Semester V examinations, scheduled between May 21 and 26, have been postponed to after June 17, while the Fourth Year Engineering (BE) Semester VII examinations, earlier slated from May 20 to 25, will now be conducted after June 15.The university said separate revised timetables will be published on its website. Colleges have been instructed to inform students and faculty members about the changes immediately. This comes in the wake of a protest held by engineering students, Youth Congress and NSUI on Tuesday demanding the university to postpone the examinations as re-evaluation results of students were not out yet. “The re-evaluation result needs to be out first before the examination schedule is announced. Hence we protested,” said Akhsay Jain, Maharashtra Youth Congress media president.
