Mangaluru: Following the death a 35-year-old man from Gerukatte in Belthangady, the deceased’s kin has alleged medical negligence on part of a private hospital which initially treated the injured.According to complainant Nasiruddin P, on the night of May 14, his brother, Muhammad Sharif P, was injured by a bull at home and was admitted to a hospital in Uppinangady for treatment. Due to alleged negligence by the hospital’s doctors, Sharif’s health worsened, and he was transferred to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment on May 16. Despite the treatment, he passed away on May 20. Based on this complaint, a case has been registered at Belthangady police station under Section 194(3)(iv) of the BNS, and an investigation is under way, said police.To examine the allegations of medical negligence in this case, correspondence has been initiated with the relevant department to form a medical team to provide a report. Appropriate legal action will be taken once the report is received, police said.
