Prayagraj: A criminal identified as Shani Singh (26) of Gonde village was arrested by Pratapgarh police on Sunday on the charges of opening firing during a wedding ceremony at Rampur village on April 20 and seized one pistol along with one live and one used cartridge from his possession.Shani has eight criminal cases pending against him in different police stations of Prataparh district. He confessed to police he had opened firing at the stage during wedding ceremony following an old enmity. The firing created panic among visitors who ran helter-skelter to save their lives.Meanwhile, a 40-year-old woman identified as Suraj Kali of Sangipur was killed and her husband sustained serious injuries after their two-wheeler was hit by a speeding dumper near Mohanganj bazar road in Pratapgarh district on Sunday.
