Chatra: An FIR was lodged with the Sadar police station against the principal of a govt middle school on Thursday for allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old girl student.The parents of the Class V student in the Rajkiya Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya, Dumbi, alleged that on May 8, principal Ranjan Kumar allegedly mercilessly thrashed their child with a stick over some issue on the premises. The girl sustained multiple injury marks on her hands and legs and had to be taken to the Chatra sadar hospital.The principal had harassed her daughter earlier as well due to personal bias, the mother further alleged.The officer in-charge of the Sadar police station, Awadhesh Kumar Singh, said, “A case has been registered. Police would take further action as per law in this case.”
