Bhubaneswar: Students from CBSE-affiliated schools in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack delivered an impressive performance in the Class XII board exams this year, with several students scoring above 98% and emerging as toppers across streams.CBSE declared the Class XII results on Wednesday. While the national pass percentage witnessed a slight dip compared to last year, students from the twin cities maintained a strong performance, with several schools recording 100% results.In the Science stream, three students from Bhubaneswar jointly emerged as toppers with 98.4%. They were identified as Tamanna Bal of Sai International School, Ipsita Jena of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur and Anwesha Sundaray of KIIT International School. Anwesha scored a perfect 100 in chemistry and biology, Tamanna secured full marks in biology, while Ipsita scored 100 in painting. The students said consistent preparation, self-discipline and studying for six to seven hours daily helped them achieve the feat.In humanities, Tarun Tapan Bhuyan of Sai International topped the city with 98.8%, followed by Ananya Tiwari of Mother’s Public School and Saanvi Patel of KIIT International School, both of whom secured 98%. Tarun, who scored a perfect 100 in psychology, said he plans to pursue political science in higher studies and prepare for the UPSC exam after graduation.In the commerce stream, Batsal Agarwal of Sai International secured the highest score of 98.8%. He also scored 100 in Business Studies. Tamanna Agarwal of KIIT International School secured 98.4%, while Sai Awahan Jena of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, scored 97.8%. Deshna Jain and Bharat Jain of Mother’s Public School secured 97.2% each.Sources said Tarun and Batsal emerged as the Odisha toppers in humanities and commerce streams, respectively, while the state-wise compilation for the Science stream was underway till the filing of this report.In Cuttack, the first batch of Class XII science students from SCB DAV Public School and LR DAV Public School achieved 100% results, with all students securing first division marks.
