Krishnagiri: The Krishnagiri taluk police cracked a double murder case by arresting a 32-year-old woman and her paramour at Palakuri on Tuesday. The charred bodies of Mahesh Kumar, 36, a soldier from Palakuri near Krishnagiri, and his father Chellappan, 60, a former soldier, were recovered from two different places on the roadside near Poovathi on the Krishnagiri-Rayakottai road on Monday.Police investigation revealed that Mahesh Kumar’s wife Bhanupriya, 32, was in an extra-marital relationship with Poovarasan, 35, of Palakuri. Despite several warnings from her husband, Bhanupriya continued the affair. On Sunday evening, the couple had a heated argument over the affair. After learning about the fight between the couple, Poovarasan went to their house around midnight and hacked Mahesh Kumar and Chellappan to death. Later, he took the bodies to a nearby area and set them on fire. The taluk police registered a case and arrested Bhanupriya and Poovarasan.
