Guwahati: Much before the BJP legislature party selects their leader, party state president Dilip Saikia on Friday announced that Himanta Biswa Sarma will take oath as the CM for the second consecutive term on Tuesday.Saikia announced this after meeting the leadership of the Rabha Hasong Joutha Sangram Samiti (RHJSS), Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) and various other organisations. RHJSS and BPF are BJP’s allies.Meanwhile, Sarma said, “On May 10, the BJP Legislature Party will meet in the presence of our central observer JP Nadda and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini. Once the leader is selected, it will be ratified by the NDA legislature party, because we have two partners, Bodoland People’s Front and Asom Gana Parishad. Once the formalities are over, the legislature party will select a delegation, and the delegation will go and meet the governor and stake a claim to form the govt.”He added that NDA ministers will take oath on May 12 in the presence of PM Narendra Modi. “CMs of several states and other prominent personalities will attend the oath-taking ceremony,” he said.Speaking to the media at Dudhnoi in lower Assam’s Goalpara district, BJP state president Saikia said, “Himanta Biswa Sarma will take oath of office on May 12 as a CM for a second consecutive term. We met the leadership of Rabha Hasong Joutha Sangram Samiti and various organisations at Dudhnoi in Goalpara. We also thanked the people for their extensive support to NDA.”“We will have to strengthen the alliance not only at the party level, but also at the grass-roots level and work in tandem to sort out all the challenges and accelerate the pace of development,” he added.He said no NDA partner is alone and no particular issue is of a particular ally. “Every problem or issue will be dealt with and sorted out as that of NDA,” he added.“Our govt is committed to advancing all communities residing in the Sixth Schedule areas of Assam, along with the autonomous councils. As NDA, all parties have achieved a historic victory in the elections through mutual cooperation. Therefore, we all resolve to come together in a positive environment with the leadership and workers of our allied parties to further accelerate the pace of development under the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma in the coming days,” he said.Meanwhile, preparation for the oath-taking ceremony is underway in full swing at the veterinary playground at Guwahati’s Khanapara. BJP leader and former MLA Hemanga Thakuria said the party is expecting a gathering of over 1 lakh party workers and supporters in the oath taking ceremony at the venue.
