Nagpur: More than 62,000 students appeared for Maharashtra’s Common Entrance Test (CET) for seven professional undergraduate and integrated courses this year, with overall attendance touching 87.66%, according to data released by State Common Entrance Test Cell.The computer-based examinations for bachelor of hotel management and catering technology (BHMCT), bachelor of computer applications (BCA), bachelor of business administration (BBA), bachelor of business management (BBM), bachelor of management studies (BMS), integrated MBA and integrated MCA programmes were conducted across two days — April 28 and 29 — for admissions to the 2026-27 academic session.Out of 71,067 registered candidates, 62,301 appeared for the examination, while 8,766 remained absent. The tests were held across 132 centres in all 36 districts of Maharashtra on first day, 119 centres on second day.In a policy shift, the govt merged separate CETs for BHMCT and management-oriented undergraduate courses into a single examination framework from this academic year. Earlier, BHMCT and courses such as BCA, BBA, BBM and BMS had separate entrance tests.The restructuring follows inclusion of BCA, BBA, BBM and BMS under ambit of All India Council for Technical Education from 2024-25 academic year.
