New Delhi: A 50-year-old man, wanted in an armed robbery and attempt to culpable homicide case, was arrested in a police encounter in southeast Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur area.The accused, identified as Sunil, an active bad character of Govindpuri police station, was apprehended near a DDA park adjacent to a hospital around 10pm on Wednesday.Police laid a trap following a tip-off about Sunil’s movement in the area.According to police, when the team attempted to intercept him, Sunil allegedly opened fire at the personnel. The police then shot him in his left leg. He was subsequently overpowered and taken into custody.Police seized a country-made pistol, one spent cartridge and a robbed mobile phone from his possession.Sunil has been involved in criminal activities since 1999 and has a long criminal history spanning 16 cases registered across multiple police stations. He has also been convicted in seven cases, police said.
